Edition 2025 — Christmas in Messina
Christmas in Messina 2025
The 2025 edition of Christmas in Messina took place from December 8, 2025, to January 6, 2026, promoted by the Municipality of Messina. The Christmas Village in Piazza Cairoli opened its doors as early as December 3rd, with lights, decorations, children's rides, reindeer, and daily entertainment.
The markets were divided into two main hubs: Piazza Cairoli, with 40 renovated stalls, and the area next to the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, with 50 additional stalls managed by private operators. The tree-lighting ceremonies on December 8th involved Palazzo Zanca, Piazza Municipio, the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Università, and Piazza del Popolo.
The musical program included events in Piazza Duomo and city squares, with performances at the Palacultura, the "A Stage for Everyone" format, folk groups, and bagpipers. Villas and parks—Villa Dante, Villa Sabin, Villa Mazzini, Parco Aldo Moro, and Pineta di Montepiselli—were illuminated by the "Wonders between Lights and Magic" initiative. Religious traditions were also present, with the Procession of the Silver Simulacrum of the Immaculate Conception and the Procession of the Baby Jesus, as well as the living nativity scenes in Castanea and Curcuraci and the Epiphany Concert in the Cathedral.
