Christmas in Augusta 2025

From December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026, the Municipality of Augusta (SR) enlivened the historic center with a month of events. On December 6th, the illuminations were lit, the twelve-meter tree was unveiled, and the ice skating rink opened in Piazza Duomo; on December 7th, a historical pageant moved from the Swabian Castle to Piazza D'Astorga, featuring a medieval village, falconry, and archery. From December 13th to 24th, the markets featured "ArtigianCity", wandering bagpipers, choirs, and book presentations, alongside Augusta street food (December 27-29).

Events included the Nativity Scene Trail with schools and associations, concerts by the Iubilaeum Polyphonic Choir and the "Federico II" Band, and the 3rd edition of the Augusta Gospel Festival. On December 31st, the grand New Year's Eve in Piazza Castello featured Francesco Renga, preceded by the artist Nove and followed by a DJ set by Maurizio and Andrea Cianchino, hosted by Serena Tringali. The festivities concluded on January 5th and 6th with the Charity Befana.

December 6 — Inauguration

• Lighting of the artistic illuminations and the Christmas tree (12 meters) in Piazza Duomo;
• Inauguration of the ice skating rink "Tutti in… pista" (6:30 PM).

December 7

• Historical pageant from the Swabian Castle to Piazza D'Astorga with a medieval village (living history, falconry, archery, market);
• Theatrical performance "La città prediletta" by Alessandra Ruma (7:00 PM).

December 13 – 24 — Markets

• Craft and antique markets (Pro Loco Augusta) and "ArtigianCity";
• Wandering bagpipers and Gathering of Sicilian Bagpipers;
• Choirs, book presentations, and artistic performances.

December 27 – 29

• "Augusta street food – The taste of the new year".

December 31 — New Year's Eve in Piazza Castello

• Opening with the artist Nove;
• Concert by Francesco Renga;
• DJ set by Maurizio and Andrea Cianchino; hosted by Serena Tringali.

January 5 – 6 — Epiphany

• Charity Befana (3rd edition): January 5th in Brucoli, January 6th in Piazza Duomo;
• Final concert featuring folk, classical, and jazz music.

Throughout the period: Nativity Scene Trail (churches, squares, and shop windows), Augusta Gospel Festival (3rd edition), choral and band concerts.
