Edition 2025 — Christmas Concert in the Cathedral

The 41st edition of the Christmas Concert in the Cathedral took place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 8:30 PM in the Papal Basilica of Saint John Lateran in Rome. Two hundred choristers and soloists from the Choir of the Diocese of Rome, accompanied by over fifty musicians from the Nova Opera Orchestra, performed a program of Italian and international Christmas carols under the direction of Monsignor Marco Frisina. Free admission.

2025 Edition

On December 14, 2025, the Basilica of Saint John Lateran hosted the forty-first edition of the Christmas Concert in the Cathedral, starting at 8:30 PM with doors opening at 7:00 PM.

Under the direction of Monsignor Marco Frisina, the 200 choristers and soloists of the Choir of the Diocese of Rome and the over 50 musicians of the Nova Opera Orchestra proposed a program that alternated between Italian tradition and international repertoire, with pieces such as the Gloria from the Mass «Esultate nel Signore», Puer natus est nobis, Adeste fideles, Joy to the World, Tu scendi dalle stelle, Carol of the Drum, Tante schiere d'Angeli, the Magnificat, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, the March of the Three Kings, Adorazione di Maria, Jingle Bells, Mele Kalikimaka, and Stille Nacht.

As per tradition, admission was free and the concert was filmed and broadcast by partner broadcasters and on the Diocese of Rome's YouTube channel.

Program performed: Gloria (from the Mass «Esultate nel Signore»), Puer natus est nobis, Adeste fideles, Joy to the World, Tu scendi dalle stelle, Carol of the Drum, Tante schiere d'Angeli, Magnificat, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, March of the Three Kings, Adorazione di Maria, Jingle Bells, Mele Kalikimaka, Stille Nacht.
