Edition 2025 — Christmas City Melilli

During Christmas 2024-2025, Melilli celebrated the holidays amidst the lights of the Terrazza degli Iblei, with the Christmas village in the center and the region's living nativity scenes. Notably, the Melilli Living Nativity celebrated its 34th edition in the ancient garden of the Convent of the Friars Minor Capuchin, confirming a tradition active since 1990.

The 2024-2025 Christmas edition confirmed Melilli's vocation as one of the hubs of Iblean Christmas in the province of Syracuse. Attractions and illuminations enlivened the historic center, while the living nativity scenes represented the most anticipated moment of the holidays.

The Melilli Living Nativity was staged in the 18th-century garden of the Convent of the Friars Minor Capuchin for its 34th edition, while the hamlet of Villasmundo offered its own performance at the Parco della Sughereta. Costumed actors recreated the trades and scenes of village life from the era, in an evocative journey through faith, history, and popular tradition.
