Edition 2025 โ€” Chinese New Year in Esquilino

The 2025 edition of the Chinese New Year in Esquilino was held on February 7 and 8 at the Nicola Calipari Gardens, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, to welcome the Year of the Snake. Two days with free admission featuring cultural and gastronomic booths, shows, traditional music and dances, and the customary parade with dragons and dancing lions that crossed the streets of Rome's Chinatown before concluding in the square's gardens.

Year of the Snake

In 2025, the Chinese New Year in Esquilino celebrated the Year of the Snake on the weekend of February 7 and 8, once again at the Nicola Calipari Gardens in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Rome. Free admission and a program spread over two days, featuring themed decorations, cultural booths, and gastronomic stalls managed by local operators.

The central moment was once again the procession with dragons and lion dances, which traveled through the main streets of Rome's Chinatown before ending inside the gardens. The calendar of celebrations then extended until the Lantern Festival, which fell on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The event confirmed its role as an identity-building appointment for the Esquilino district and an opportunity for encounter between Rome's Chinese community and Italian residents.
