2025 Teatino Carnival in Chieti

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the fifteenth edition of the traditional Teatino Carnival took place, marking the return of the festival after a five-year hiatus. The event was organized by the Camminando Insieme Onlus association, chaired by Lida Buccella with artistic direction by Francesco Stoppa, and under the patronage of the Municipality of Chieti.

The parade started at 4:30 PM from Piazza Garibaldi and crossed the historic center along Via Arniense, Corso Marrucino, Piazza Valignani, Piazza Trento e Trieste, and Viale IV Novembre, concluding at the Villa Comunale with the traditional trial of King Carnival. The parade included the city's five districts, schools of all levels, and about a hundred musicians, bands, stilt walkers, and clowns.

Among the novelties of the edition was the new mascot "Nino: Teatino Carnival", a puppet symbol designed as a bridge between historical tradition and the energy of the city community. Educational workshops for students and stalls with typical Teatino cuisine were also featured.
