Chestnut Festival

The 2025 edition, the forty-third, of the Chestnut Festival in Bacchereto was held on the weekends of October 18-19 and October 25-26, 2025. Alongside chestnut-based specialties—chestnuts, roasted chestnuts, castagnaccio, nicci with ricotta and Nutella, nicce and rice fritters—and evening dinners with Tuscan appetizers, bread soup, and polenta with mushrooms, the programme offered a rich cultural backdrop.

Initiatives included the Exhibition of Ancient Majolica of Bacchereto and a painting and sculpture exhibition by Fiorella Noci, as well as activities for children with face painting, temporary tattoos, origami, balloon modeling, and clown and magic shows. On October 26, the Discover Bacchereto workshop guided visitors through the history of the charming Medici village nestled in the Montalbano hills, in the province of Prato.
