Summer 2025 in the village
The summer calendar of Zungoli, in the Province of Avellino, was nonetheless rich. On August 16, 2025, the former Franciscan convent hosted the sixth edition of the cultural festival Fragori nella Mente; on August 22nd, the Threshing and Harvest Festival, dedicated to peasant traditions, was held at the sports field; on August 28th, Piazza Municipio hosted the Chiccozza Festival, linked to a typical Zungoli specialty.
The common thread remains the caciocavallo
On all these occasions, the protagonist is the cheese that matures in the tuff caves carved beneath the historic center, processed by the Cooperativa Agricola Molara with milk from Podolica cows grazing in the Irpinian Apennines. It is this dairy heritage that 'Cheeses Under the Stars' brings to the table, in one of the most evocative evenings of the summer in Campania.
