Charles V Historical Pageant 2025: the 33rd edition
The 2025 edition of the Charles V Historical Pageant in Nicosia marked the 33rd edition of the oldest historical re-enactment in Sicily. The event was held on November 29, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, enlivening the streets and squares of the historic center of Nicosia, in the province of Enna.
The 16th-century costumed procession recreated the visit of Emperor Charles V to the city, culminating in the presentation of the city keys and the reading of the Imperial Privilege. The evening featured participants in period costumes, the Civitas Nicosiae Flag-wavers and Musicians, and numerous local associations, confirming the re-enactment as one of the most cherished identity-defining events in Nicosia and inland Sicily.
