Celebrations in Honor of the Madonna Grande

In 2025, the Celebrations in honor of the Madonna Grande in Fresagrandinaria (Chieti, Abruzzo) were held from June 9 to 12. On Monday, June 9, the traditional pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Nuova Cliternia departed at dawn at 4:30 AM, with mass at the parish and an evening celebration at the sanctuary, following a centuries-old tradition. On Wednesday, June 11, the day of the patronal festival and the 219th anniversary, celebrations began at 8:00 AM with firecrackers, church bells, and the musical accompaniment of the Grande Banda del Cilento. On Thursday, June 12, the day of thanksgiving, the program included entertainment for children, a concert by the «Città di Gissi» band, evening mass, a procession through the village streets, and, in closing, a lottery draw and a fireworks display. The event was organized by the SS. Salvatore Parish and the Festival Committee with the patronage of the Municipality of Fresagrandinaria.
