Edition 2025 — Cave Peace Palio

The 2025 edition of the Cave Peace Palio, held on September 13th and 14th, celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of the event. Organized by the Cave Peace Treaty Association led by Massimiliano Scarozza, it took the village back five centuries with the seven historic districts, over three hundred costumed participants, and the re-enactment of the 1557 Peace Treaty. Participation was free.

Cave Peace Palio 2025 - Thirtieth Edition

On September 13 and 14, 2025, the town of Cave, in the Lazio region, hosted the thirtieth edition of the Peace Palio, an important milestone for the Association for the Historical Re-enactment of the 1557 Treaty of Cave, presided over by Massimiliano Scarozza.

The seven historic districts enlivened the center of the village with a procession of over three hundred participants in period costumes—ladies, knights, men-at-arms, and commoners—accompanied by drums, clarions, and banners. The re-enactment, set in the places where the peace that ended the Salt War was signed in 1557, included the inaugural ceremony, guided tours, traditional games, and tournaments between the districts, culminating in the awarding of the Palio banner.
