The first edition, the one from which everything was born

CautanoFest debuted in the summer of 2025 in Cautano, in the province of Benevento, as a project of the Municipality's Youth Forum. The starting idea was simple and ambitious at the same time: to bring the festival not to an equipped area outside the town, but to the historic center, among the houses and squares of the village, involving the young people in the construction of the event instead of limiting them to the role of audience.

That first appointment worked. In presenting the following edition, the local press spoke of the return of the festival «after a successful first edition» and of the heart of the young people returning to beat for their village, a formula that well expresses the civic sense of the operation in a village of the Campanian Apennines marked by depopulation.

There is no precise documentation online for the days of 2025: neither the exact calendar nor the program for each evening is available. However, the fact that counts to understand the event remains: it is from this first test that CautanoFest was born as a fixed summer appointment in the Vitulanese Valley, on the slopes of the Taburno massif.
