The artisan chocolate exhibition and market in Piazza Primo Maggio
Cattolica Chocolate is the event that transforms Cattolica, a pearl of the Romagna Riviera in the Province of Rimini, into the queen of sweetness every spring. For an entire weekend, the very central Piazza Primo Maggio fills with stands fragrant with cocoa: a large exhibition and market where master chocolatiers and artisan pastry chefs offer pralines, designer bars, creations sculpted in chocolate, and many delicacies to taste and buy.
The event, organized by Promo D, goes far beyond a simple gastronomic fair. Alongside the exhibitors, there are show cooking events with chefs and pastry chefs, free workshops for children, entertainment shows, the "ludobus" (mobile playroom) with traditional games, and guided tours dedicated to the history of cocoa. A program designed for families, combining the pleasure of food with the discovery of chocolate culture.
One of the elements that makes the festival unique is its connection with the Staccoli Chocolate Museum, which opens its doors to visitors during the event with guided tours, sensory tastings, and tours exploring cocoa processing. It's the perfect opportunity to understand how a cocoa bean becomes a praline, with explanations from master chocolatiers.
Among the most anticipated events is the amateur cake competition "Dolci Talenti" (Sweet Talents): passionate amateur bakers of all ages compete with their homemade cakes, judged by a panel of experts. A fun and popular competition that rewards the creativity and deliciousness of the contestants.
With completely free admission, Cattolica Chocolate is an ideal destination for a spring trip to Romagna: stroll among the stands, taste, stock up on pralines and chocolates, and let yourself be captivated by the festive atmosphere that fills the city. A perfect opportunity to discover Cattolica even outside the summer season, enjoying good food and the typical hospitality of the Riviera.
The eighth edition of Cattolica Chocolate was held from March 27 to 29, 2026 in Piazza Primo Maggio, featuring the artisan chocolate exhibition and market and a rich program of free events for all ages.
Throughout the event, the master chocolatiers' stands were open continuously for tastings and sales.
