As the days get shorter and the summer season is a distant memory, Jesolo welcomes autumn with the Castagna Festival: for a few days, Piazza Mazzini, on the coast of the Venice province's seaside resort, transforms into a village dedicated to the queen of the season, the chestnut.
Flavors of the season
Among the stalls, the air is filled with the aroma of roasted chestnuts, fritters, sweets, and crêpes, all accompanied by new wine and prosecco, local excellences of the Veneto region. There's also street food, with seasonal specialties and food stalls, for a festival that puts good autumn food center stage.
Music, rides, and fun
The Castagna Festival is also a celebration for families: rides for children and adults, live music, performances by local dance schools, and shows by local bands liven up the piazza from morning till night. It's now a well-established event in Jesolo's autumn calendar, free and designed for all ages.
