The Opening of the Carnevali di Marca
The Carnival of the Marca in Pieve del Grappa is one of the first stops of the Carnevali di Marca, the great circuit that animates dozens of municipalities in the Marca Trevigiana, in the province of Treviso, during winter. The parade, held in January, inaugurates the Treviso carnival season together with Tarzo, drawing thousands of spectators to the foot of Monte Grappa.
Allegorical Floats from Paderno to Crespano
The heart of the festival is the parade of allegorical floats, which runs along the road from Paderno to Crespano del Grappa, the two hamlets that have formed the municipality of Pieve del Grappa since 2019. The large papier-mâché floats, the result of the work of masked groups, depict themes ranging from cartoons to social messages, accompanied by masks, music, and entertainment in the square.
A Community Festival
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Crespano and Paderno together with the Carnevali di Marca circuit and the Municipality of Pieve del Grappa. The parade is opened by the children of the local nursery school, emphasizing the event's strong roots in the community. Thousands of people gather along the route to experience one of the most colourful and popular festivals of the Treviso winter.

Nestled at the foot of Monte Grappa, Pieve del Grappa is a municipality in the Treviso foothills formed by the merger of Crespano and Paderno. Its Carnival, part of the Carnevali di Marca circuit, is an opportunity to discover this territory, a blend of popular tradition and mountain landscapes.
Carnival of the Marca — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Carnival of the Marca in Pieve del Grappa took place on Sunday, January 18, starting at 2:30 PM, inaugurating the Carnevali di Marca season together with Tarzo. The parade of allegorical floats ran along the road from Paderno to Crespano, opened by the nursery and integrated daycare 'Caterina Basso' with the theme 'Bee Happy! The Carnival of the Bees'. Among the floats were themes ranging from Toy Story to the Minions, from the Smurfs to social messages like 'Kindness extinguishes violence'. The festival, presented by Alessandro Masini, attracted about 4,500 spectators.

How to get there
