Carnival Festival – La Gastroallegria

Ninth edition: August 11-13, 2025

From August 11 to 13, 2025, Piazza dell'Itria in Galatone hosted the ninth edition of the Carnival Festival – La Gastroallegria. For three nights, the square transformed into a large gastronomic village, with the Comitato Carnevale Galatonese "Andrea Papa" stands offering the great classics of Salento cuisine: pettule, pezzetti di cavallo, the quatara of Galatone, and pasticciotto, all focused on local sourcing and seasonal products.

The musical program was also rich, with a different artist or group each night:

• August 11 — Zigo & I Carosello, followed by Scazzacatarante (pizzica and folk music);
• August 12 — Flashback (Italian and international hits) and Avvocati Divorzisti;
• August 13 — Li Tarantati (pizzica and taranta) and Ester del Popolo.

The event, with free admission, was made possible with the support of the Municipality of Galatone, the Pro Loco, and local partners, confirming its status as one of the most popular summer events in Salento.
