A carnival that walks from town to town

Carnevale in Tour is the format with which the Pro Loco associations of Valcuvia and the lower Lake Maggiore area, in the province of Varese, network their carnivals: instead of a single large parade, the event unfolds over several February weekends, touching seven municipalities - including Laveno Mombello, Besozzo, Travedona Monate, Ispra, Sangiano, Cuvio, and Cuveglio. Floats and masked groups move from one town to another, bringing colour and fun everywhere.

The Cuveglio stop

Cuveglio participates in the tour together with the neighbouring town of Cuvio. The procession for this stop starts from the Cuveglio Shopping Centre and heads towards the Pancera Park in Cuvio, where the stands and entertainment are concentrated. Along the route and upon arrival, carnival specialities are available: tortelli, fried sweets, wine, polenta and sausage.

A celebration for families

Designed primarily for children and families, Carnevale in Tour is a community event that highlights the volunteer work of local Pro Loco associations and the carnival traditions of the valley. The organisation involves Pro Loco associations, local groups, and the Municipalities of the seven towns, with registrations for masked groups opening at the beginning of the year.

Cuveglio and Valcuvia

Cuveglio is one of the main centres in Valcuvia, a pre-Alpine valley nestled between Campo dei Fiori and the mountains of Verbano. Carnevale in Tour is an opportunity to experience the area in its most festive and popular dimension, in the midst of winter.
