The Non-Motorized Carts of Castion
Caret a Castion is one of the most entertaining village festivals in the Belluno area. It takes place in Castion, a hillside hamlet of Belluno, in Piazza Pian delle Feste, and features a race of artisanal non-motorized carts: vehicles built by hand by the participants, launched downhill with great goliardic spirit.
Imagination and Costumes
At Caret a Castion, it's not just speed that wins: the event also rewards the creativity of the carts and the originality of the crews' costumes. Participants compete divided into three age categories, and a jury awards prizes to the most original cart and team.
A Community Festival
The event is organized by Pro Loco Pieve Castionese APS and represents a moment of gathering for the community of Castion and its surroundings. Amidst laughter, costumes, and cheering along the course, the race confirms the convivial and popular character of the festivals in the Belluno hamlets, in the heart of the province of Belluno.
