A guided walk through history, traditions, and anecdotes in the historic center of the Lecco village
Carenno in Cultura is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Carenno, a village in the province of Lecco nestled on the slopes of the Valle San Martino, a few kilometers from Calolziocorte. The event offers a guided tour through the most significant places in the historic center, designed to enhance the historical and cultural heritage of the town and make it known to residents and visitors.
The visit starts from the Town Hall at Via Roma 36 and winds through the village streets, with stops dedicated to stories, anecdotes, and insights. Accompanying the groups are people deeply connected to the town and recognized for their historical-cultural expertise, capable of revealing the authentic face of Carenno through its memories. Two departure times are scheduled to allow a larger number of people to participate in small groups.
The initiative is realized thanks to the joint work of local entities: the Pro Loco Carenno, the Gruppo Alpini of Carenno, and Arci Carenno collaborate in the organization, in a spirit of community that characterizes the initiatives of this corner of the province of Lecco. The result is a simple yet well-curated event that combines cultural and convivial dimensions.
Carenno is a natural balcony overlooking the Valle San Martino, a borderland between the provinces of Lecco and Bergamo, rich in trails, pastures, and ancient traditions. Participating in Carenno in Cultura also means connecting with this pre-Alpine territory, an ideal starting point for excursions and walks towards the mountains that overlook the village.
The 2026 edition of Carenno in Cultura takes place on Sunday, April 26, with departures from the Town Hall at Via Roma 36. The walk, dedicated to enhancing the historical and cultural heritage of Carenno, guides participants through some of the most significant places in the historic center, with stops rich in stories, anecdotes, and insights. The initiative is realized with the collaboration of Pro Loco Carenno, Gruppo Alpini, and Arci Carenno.
