Capitignano Carnival

In February 2025, the Capitignano Carnival renewed its customary festive afternoon organized by the Pro Loco of Capitignano, in the mountain town of the Alto Aterno, in the province of L'Aquila. As per tradition, the event featured carnival masks, music, and dancing designed primarily for the children and families of the town and neighboring municipalities. The event confirmed itself as a moment of gathering for the community of this village in inland Abruzzo, at the foot of the Gran Sasso and the Monti della Laga, and represented the foundation for the 2026 edition, which was included in the regional "Carnival with the Pro Loco of Abruzzo" circuit.
