The Vicenza Winter Festival
The Candlemas Festival is one of the most anticipated winter events in Romano d'Ezzelino, in the province of Vicenza. Linked to the Christian feast of Candlemas (February 2nd), the festival enlivens the churchyard for over a week with a heated food stand, shows, and community gatherings that attract families and visitors from all over the Bassano area.

The heart of the festival is the food: the stand offers a hearty and traditional menu, perfect for the cold season. Among the dishes are porcini mushroom soup, meatloaf, stew with polenta, roasted pork knuckle, tripe, cuttlefish, and sausage with sauerkraut, as well as sandwiches, bruschetta, side dishes, and desserts. There are also themed evenings, such as the codfish dinner by reservation.
Music, Market, and Re-enactment
The program alternates between live music, dance nights, karaoke ("Candelora In…Canto"), and entertainment shows. Sunday is dedicated to the Candlemas Market and the historical re-enactment, with a communal lunch by reservation. The heated food stand, set up in front of the church, offers hearty Venetian winter dishes, while the program alternates shows, live music, karaoke, and the traditional market and historical re-enactment moments.
