Calamonaci Living Nativity

The first edition (2025)

From December 27 to 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Calamonaci hosted the first edition of its Living Nativity. The route wound from the square of Piazza San Vincenzo Ferreri to Via Crispi, while a fair with attractions for children was set up on Via Roma and Viale Europa.

Along the path, visitors encountered biblical scenes of the Annunciation, the census of Caesar Augustus, the markets of ancient Palestine, the search for lodging by Joseph and Mary, and the Nativity. The local youth simulated traditional crafts — blacksmith, potter, carpenter, baker, weaver — while at the tasting points, one could sample wood-fired bread, cheeses, cured meats, Christmas sweets, and local wine. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Calamonaci, the San Vincenzo Ferreri Parish, and the Sipario4 Association, was a successful turnout for the small village in the province of Agrigento.
