Edition 2025 — Cabbia Potato Festival
Third edition: the rediscovered tradition
The third edition of the Cabbia Potato Festival was held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, confirming the success of an event revived after a fifty-year hiatus. In the small mountain village of Cabbia, a hamlet of Montereale in the province of L'Aquila, the day revolved around the cajana potato, a historic agricultural product grown in the high mountains by the local community.
The program featured tastings of traditional potato-based dishes, live music in the square, photo exhibitions dedicated to field work and the rural life of the past, and workshops for children on Apennine rural culture. A harvest celebration that brought together inhabitants, emigrants, and visitors in the name of memory and the identity of the upper Aterno Valley.
