The great widespread festival of artistic ceramics in the streets of Este
Este, in the lower Padua region, is one of Italy's recognized Cities of Ceramics: here the production of earthenware and porcelain has its roots in the eighteenth century, when manufacturers like Franchini, Costa-Fabris, and Brunello made the town a reference center for the famous terraglia with its characteristic yellowish hue. Even today, historic workshops such as Este Ceramiche e Porcellane and Dal Santo Ceramica keep this heritage alive.
Buongiorno Ceramica! is the event promoted by AiCC – Italian Association of Ceramic Cities which involves dozens of Italian municipalities every year. In Este, the festival unfolds over several days between the historic center, the IREA Foundation, and Palazzo Sartori Borotto, with a program that intertwines art, craftsmanship, and gastronomy around the Este theme "Ceramics between art and taste".
The initiative, free and open to all, is designed to introduce adults and children to the world of ceramics and to enhance the artisanal heritage of Este and the province of Padua.
The Este edition of Buongiorno Ceramica! 2026 is part of the twelfth national festival promoted by AiCC. In Este, the program combines ceramic art with food culture, with events spread throughout the historic center and the city's historic venues.
The main venues are the historic center, the IREA Foundation, and Palazzo Sartori Borotto. Full program and updated times at buongiornoceramica.it.
Este can be reached by car from the A13 Padua-Bologna motorway (Monselice exit) and by train on the regional line. Events are concentrated in the historic center, which is within walking distance.
All events are free admission; some workshops require registration. Information at buongiornoceramica.it.
