Edition 2025 — Brusa la Vecia
In 2025, Brusa la Vecia once again renewed the Epiphany bonfire tradition at Forte Gisella, with the burning of the 'Vecia' to mark the end of the Christmas season. On the evening of January 6th, the Santa Lucia district of Verona gathered around the fire for a moment of community and remembrance.
In 2025, the Brusa la Vecia once again drew the community of the Santa Lucia district to Forte Gisella for the traditional Epiphany bonfire. On the evening of January 6th, the 'Vecia', an effigy of the old year, was burned in a propitiatory rite that has accompanied the transition to the new year for centuries. The celebration, free and outdoors, reaffirmed its value as a moment of intergenerational gathering, a guardian of the popular traditions of the city of Verona.
