Brooks Etna Supermarathon

The 2025 edition of the Etna Supermarathon confirmed the formula that has made this race famous: 43 kilometers of pure ascent from Marina di Cottone, at sea level, to the 3,000-meter altitude of Mount Etna. Competitors passed through the historic centers of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Piedimonte Etneo, and Linguaglossa, the town in the Province of Catania that serves as the event's headquarters.

After the road section along the Mareneve up to Piano Provenzana, the race turned into a high-altitude trail run on dirt paths, leading to the volcanic sand gully that precedes the finish. Alongside the flagship event, the 2025 edition also featured the Off-Road 14.5 km race, starting from Piano Provenzana at 1,800 meters. The event, organized by ASD Etna Trail, confirmed its international appeal among mountain running enthusiasts.
