Edition 2025 — Bread Festival

The 2025 edition of the Bread Festival of Cursi took place on July 26 and 27 at the Largo del Santuario Maria SS. dell'Abbondanza. Two evenings of Salento gastronomy, bread blessing, and folk music, including a performance by the group I Calanti on the first night, enlivened the town center in the province of Lecce.

The Bread Festival of Cursi 2025 was held on July 26 and 27 at the Largo del Santuario Maria SS. dell'Abbondanza, confirming the long tradition started in 1971 by the Amici del Pane Association. The two evenings offered tastings of wood-fired bread and Salento specialties, from pittule to friselle, accompanied by the traditional blessing of the wheat bread. The first evening, Saturday, July 26, featured a performance by the folk group I Calanti, who brought the square to life with pizzica and the sounds of Salento. The festival attracted numerous visitors in the heart of the Salento summer.

Programme

Saturday, July 26: opening of food stalls, blessing of the bread, and concert by the group I Calanti. Sunday, July 27: second evening with tastings and folk music.
