Bread and Wheat Festival

The eighth edition of the Bread and Wheat Festival was held in San Demetrio ne' Vestini from August 12 to 14, 2025, confirming itself as one of the most cherished events of the L'Aquila Ferragosto. For three evenings, the historic center hosted tastings of freshly baked bread, fried pizzas, stuffed flatbreads representing the various local districts, arrosticini, sausages, and the traditional pecora alla cottora.

Starting at 11:00 PM, the open-air disco brought the village streets to life with music and dancing. The event attracted visitors not only from the province of L'Aquila but also from other parts of Abruzzo and beyond, and the organizing committee thanked the volunteers, exhibitors, and artists for the success of the event, looking forward to future editions.
