Bread and Peace

The third edition of Bread and Peace was held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, in the village of Frattura Vecchia, a hamlet of Scanno (AQ). The event, organized by the De Rerum Natura association with the patronage of the Municipality of Scanno, opened with a historical re-enactment of wheat threshing accompanied by folk songs and music. Throughout the day, the village came alive with music and flavors, featuring dishes prepared by chefs Angelo Di Masso and Daniela Maiorano. A new feature for 2025 was the Wine & Food tastings by reservation—three wines, three dishes, a journey through local flavors—alongside food stalls, artisanal wines, and children's workshops dedicated to bread making. Cars could park at the Frattura cemetery, with a free shuttle service to the village to preserve the natural environment. An edition dedicated to bread as an ancient staple and a symbol of social unity, in line with the association's project against the depopulation of Abruzzo's inland areas.
