Blessing of the Animals

The XXIII edition of the Blessing of the Animals took place in Fermignano on Sunday, January 19, 2025, the first Sunday after the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Fermignano, enlivened Piazza Garibaldi from the early morning hours with stands, a market, and demonstrations.

After the dog training and rescue exhibitions in the morning, the animals gathered in the afternoon at the former sports field for the procession, led by the horse-mounted Giacche Verdi and local associations. The final blessing in the square was held in the presence of Archbishop Sandro Salvucci and parish priest Davide Tonti, and concluded with the distribution of Saint Anthony's bread.
