Edition 2025 — Stella Maris Festival

On August 11, 2025, Torre Vado celebrated the Stella Maris Festival, the most important maritime event of the Morciano di Leuca marina. The statue of the Madonna was carried in a sea procession aboard a festively decorated fishing boat, followed by a parade of boats and a marching band. The promenade featured a fried fish festival, Salento pizzica music, and fireworks.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Stella Maris Festival took place on Monday, August 11th, in Torre Vado, a district of Morciano di Leuca in the province of Lecce. As every year, the community gathered in devotion to the Madonna of the Sea, with the characteristic sea procession: the statue was embarked on a local fishing boat and traveled along the coast overlooking the Ionian Sea, accompanied by a marching band and a parade of boats.

The evening continued on the promenade with the fried fish festival, featuring fresh catch served according to Salento tradition, the music of the pizzica, and fireworks that closed the festival. The event, organized by the Religious Festival Committee, attracted residents and tourists vacationing in Torre Vado in the heart of the Salento summer.
