The Bissuola neighborhood festival
The Bissuola Festival is one of the most beloved neighborhood festivals in Mestre, in the Municipality of Venice. It takes place every May in the grounds of the parish of Santa Maria della Pace, on Via Varrone, in the Bissuola district, and is organized by volunteers from the parish community.
What it offers
For several days, the festival features a food stand with Venetian cuisine specialties, a market, live music with bands of various genres (rock, dance, tributes), and dancing nights. The traditional final tombola with a rich prize pool is also a highlight of the last evening.
A popular and free festival
Admission to all evenings and the entertainment area is completely free: the Bissuola Festival is above all an occasion for the neighborhood and the city to come together, attracting families and visitors of all ages. It's an example of the vitality of the local festivals on the Venetian mainland, far from the tourist circuits but strongly rooted in local identity.
Bissuola Festival — edition 2026
The 25th edition of the Bissuola Festival takes place from May 21st to 25th, 2026, in the area of the Santa Maria della Pace parish, on Via Varrone in Mestre, celebrating the festival's silver anniversary. Five days of live music, gastronomic specialties, and entertainment for all ages.
The opening is on Thursday, May 21st, at 6 PM with the inauguration of the market; the food stand opens at 7 PM. The closing is on Monday, May 25th, in the evening with the traditional tombola (prize pool 750 euros) at 10:30 PM and the lottery draw at 11 PM. Free entry to all evenings.
