Two days of nature, science, and art at Bosco delle Querce
The Biodiversity Community Festival is an event dedicated to nature, science, and environmental education held at the Bosco delle Querce Visitor Centre, a protected area spanning the Municipalities of Seveso and Meda, in the Province of Monza and Brianza. Promoted by Legambiente and local organisations, the festival is designed as a meeting space between people, nature, and territories, as part of the European project LIFE NatConnect2030.
The theme of this edition is the discovery of insects: species often overlooked but essential for the functioning of ecosystems, from pollination to soil fertility. The programme includes field excursions with entomologist William Di Pietro, accompanied by photographic safaris focused on the park's microcosm, educational talks on pollinators and wild orchids, as well as the presentation of butterfly monitoring data from Bosco delle Querce. An exhibition dedicated to alien insects will be open throughout the event.
The festival blends scientific dissemination with artistic and musical moments. The opening evening features a concert by Rowan Tree, while the second day is enriched by a scientific and musical aperitif. A format that combines knowledge and conviviality, designed for adults and children.
Bosco delle Querce is a natural area created on the reclaimed land affected by the Seveso disaster of 1976, now a symbol of environmental rebirth. Hosting the Biodiversity Community Festival here holds particular significance: transforming a place marked by history into a space for education, research, and love for nature, serving the Brianza region and its territory.
The 2026 edition, the first, of the Biodiversity Community Festival is held at the Bosco delle Querce Visitor Centre, between Seveso and Meda (MB), on 15 and 16 May. Promoted within the LIFE NatConnect2030 project, the festival dedicates two days to the discovery of insects and biodiversity, with activities for adults and children.
