Edition 2025 — beyond Challenge
A record-breaking fourth edition
On Saturday, September 21, 2025, the Monticolo forest above Appiano sulla Strada del Vino (BZ) hosted the fourth edition of the beyond Challenge, with a record participation of over 600 athletes arriving from South Tyrol, Italy, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The Fun Challenge saw over 30 teams of friends, clubs, and companies compete, accompanied by special coaches such as Olympic medalists Patrick Baumgartner, Alex Verginer, Omar Visintin, and Daniel Gruber. The Pro Challenge, longer and more technical, featured individual athletes and over a hundred Alpine troops from the Italian Army.
Among the winners of the Pro Challenge, in the men's category Felix Verdorfer (1:34:41) took the lead ahead of Michael Rainer and Fabio Lovato; in the women's category Brigitte Gögele (1:55:09) finished ahead of Alexa Tanzer and Marion Viertler. The day concluded with a party at the Monticolo Lido animated by DJ PATEX, while the organization donated ten cents for every kilometer run to support South Tyrolean sports.
