Befana Torchlight Procession

The 2025 edition of the Befana Torchlight Procession confirmed its status as one of the most heartfelt events in the winter calendar of Andalo, on the Paganella Plateau, in the province of Trento.

On the evening of January 5th, the village was illuminated by the torchlight procession that left from Piazza Dolomiti and headed to the parish church square, where the large bonfire was lit according to the ancient Trentino custom of Epiphany fires. The Befana descended from the bell tower with her sack of sweets for the little ones, while adults warmed up with tea and mulled wine. On January 6th, the Befana returned in a horse-drawn carriage for a final farewell to families, closing the Christmas festivities on the Plateau.
