Edition 2025 — Barile Living Via Crucis
On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, Barile renewed its ancient living Via Crucis, with over a hundred costumed participants along the streets of the historic center. The Passion of Christ intertwined, as per centuries-old tradition, with characters from Arbëreshë culture, from the Gypsy Woman to the thirty-three maidens in purple.
The 2025 edition of the Barile Via Crucis took place on Good Friday, April 18th, in the afternoon, organized by Pro Loco Barile. The procession of volunteer participants crossed the historic center of the Arbëreshë village in Vulture, re-enacting the Passion that for centuries has made Barile one of the most evocative destinations of Holy Week in Basilicata.
