Edition 2025 — Ballo della Cordella
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition confirmed the established structure of the event. The 'a zita serenade opened the celebrations in the evening, with theater, song, and music dedicated to rural courtship rituals. The following day, in the afternoon, the re-enactment of the ancient Wedding Procession crossed the historic center of Petralia Sottana with caparisoned horses and costumed participants, leading to the Ballo Pantomima della Cordella at the Municipal Sports Field, where twelve couples wove the curdeddi to the rhythm of the tarantella.
The event, organized by the Pro Loco "Francesco Tropea" and the Ballo della Cordella Association, was part of the Festival of Popular Traditions, with folk shows and music in the village squares. Admission to the events was free.
