Edition 2025 — At the Priors' Table
The inaugural edition of At the Priors' Table was held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the historic center of Massa Marittima, opening the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the Free Commune, established on July 31, 1225. Conceived by the Società dei Terzieri Massetani together with the Municipality, the event transported the city back to the 1225-1335 period.
For the 500 ticketed participants, the three Terzieri offered three distinct medieval menus: the Terziere di Borgo with boiled veal, chickpeas with saffron, and white rice cake; the Terziere di Cittavecchia with pork sausages, herb pie, and common cake; and the Terziere di Cittanuova with wild boar in peverata sauce, onion salad, and white cake. The city streets hosted duels between men-at-arms, performances by flag-wavers and musicians, archery competitions, historical dances, and the recitation of sonnets by the poet Ugo da Massa.
