Theatre as Active Citizenship
Assicurarsi ai Sedili is the distributed festival of amateur and professional theatre that transforms Rho, a municipality in the Province of Milan, and the towns in the hinterland into a large, widespread stage every spring. The event promotes grassroots theatre as a form of active citizenship, valuing participation and a sense of community.
Dozens of Shows, Hundreds of Actors
The festival stages dozens of shows with the participation of nearly a thousand actors: amateur companies, school groups, theatre schools, associations, centres for the disabled, and inclusion projects. This variety makes Assicurarsi ai Sedili one of the largest participatory theatre experiences in the Milan area.
A Widespread Stage
The shows take place in numerous venues: the Teatro Civico Roberto de Silva, Villa Burba, the MAST, as well as spaces in neighbouring municipalities such as Arese, Cornaredo, Lainate, Nerviano, and Pregnana Milanese. The festival thus involves an entire area, strengthening the cultural and theatrical vocation of the Rhodense territory.
A Network of Realities
Organised by Teatro dell'Armadillo together with the Municipality of Rho and other cultural entities, the event is the result of a network of associations and administrations that share the conviction that theatre is a tool for collective growth. An event that, edition after edition, consolidates the cultural identity of Rho and its surrounding municipalities.
Assicurarsi ai Sedili — edition 2026
The 19th edition of Assicurarsi ai Sedili is scheduled from May 12th to June 28th, 2026. The festival offers 78 shows with the participation of nearly 1,000 actors, including amateur companies, school groups, theatre schools, associations, and inclusion projects.
The shows take place in numerous venues: the Teatro Civico Roberto de Silva, Villa Burba, the MAST, and spaces in the municipalities of Arese, Cornaredo, Lainate, Nerviano, and Pregnana Milanese. The event is organised by Teatro dell'Armadillo together with the Municipality of Rho and other local entities.
