Saint Lucia's Day, a living tradition

Aspettando Santa Lucia is the pre-Christmas event in Castelleone, a municipality in the Province of Cremona. In much of eastern Lombardy and the Cremona area, Saint Lucia is the figure who, on the night between December 12th and 13th, brings gifts to children: an ancient and still deeply felt tradition, which this event celebrates by animating the town center.

A market in the heart of the town

Organized by the Pro Loco of Castelleone, the market enlivens Via Roma, Via Garibaldi, Piazza del Comune, and Piazza Torre Isso, as well as the evocative courtyard 'l'Isola Sonante' in Palazzo Brunenghi. The stalls offer artisanal products, gift ideas, and local specialties, in a route that winds through the historic center illuminated for the holidays.

Shows and atmosphere

The day is marked by shows for children, the sound of bagpipers accompanying the Christmas atmosphere, and musical moments with a DJ set. It is a festival designed primarily for families, transforming the wait for Saint Lucia into an afternoon and evening of shared magic.
