Edition 2025 — Charles V in the Land of Sala
The return after six years
The 2025 edition, the 27th of the festival, brought the re-enactment of Charles V's passage back to Sala Consilina after a six-year break. From August 1 to 3, 2025, starting at 6:30 PM, the alleys and squares of the Santo Stefano and Sant'Eustachio districts reconstructed the 16th-century atmosphere among the noble palaces Favata, De Marsico, and De Vita, the Grancia di San Lorenzo, and the churches of San Giuseppe, Santo Stefano, Sant'Eustachio, and San Nicola.
Over 300 performers animated the people's procession and the nobles' procession, joined by historical groups from all over Italy. The program included a Renaissance market and an Oriental market, military camps, falconry and archery demonstrations, ancient craft workshops, and taverns with traditional Vallo di Diano cuisine.
On August 2, around 11:30 PM, Piazza Umberto I hosted the grand nightly show with pyrotechnic effects. The cast included actor Dario Masciello in the role of the notary and, on August 3, Simone Montedoro as Emperor Charles V.
