Two days of arthropods, biodiversity, art, and outreach at the Esapolis Museum in Padua
The Artropocene Festival is held at the Esapolis Museum in Padua, the largest insectarium in Europe, and dedicates two days to the world of arthropods, biodiversity, and the life forms that live alongside us. An event that combines science, art, and outreach in a way that is accessible to all ages.
The program includes talks, workshops, film screenings, board games, book presentations, science-themed stand-up comedy, illustration, and comics. The activities are designed for families, enthusiasts, children, and the curious, with offerings suitable for every audience.
The event is organized by Kheprica APS, Butterfly Arc, and the Esapolis Museum, organizations that have been promoting knowledge of insects and arthropods for years. In case of rain, the entire program takes place inside the museum.
The 2026 edition (2nd) of the Artropocene Festival takes place on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, at the Esapolis Museum in Padua, with the theme "Hidden Between Dimensions": an invitation to observe the small, tiny lives that traverse the soil, air, time, and matter. The event is organized by Kheprica APS, Butterfly Arc, and the Esapolis Museum.
In case of rain, the entire program takes place inside the museum. The detailed schedule of individual events will be published on the festival's official channels.
The Esapolis Museum is located at Via dei Colli 28, in Padua, on the edge of the Euganean Hills. It can be reached by car and public transport.
In May, on a weekend, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM until the evening.
