About Arte & Gusto

Arte & Gusto is the traveling market that colors the streets of Pioraco, a small village in the province of Macerata known as the town of water and paper. Along the pedestrian promenade at the foot of Monte Gualdo, among antiques, collectibles, crafts, typical products, and many street food options for lunch and dinner, the event accompanies the festive days and summer evenings of the Marche municipality. A delicious walk with free admission, immersed in greenery and a stone's throw from the waterfalls of the Potenza river.

A Market Amidst Pioraco's Waters

Arte & Gusto is the traveling market that for several years has enlivened the streets of Pioraco, a charming inland village in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. Known as the "town of water and paper" for its historic fulling mills and the Potenza river that flows through it, Pioraco provides a natural backdrop for an event that combines crafts, local flavors, and a convivial atmosphere.

What You'll Find

The stalls are set up along the pedestrian and cycle path of Piè di Gualdo, at the foot of Monte Gualdo, and sometimes in the historic center up to Piazza Isabella d'Este. Along the route, visitors will find a mosaic of offerings:

  • Antiques and collectibles, with vintage items and curiosities from yesteryear;
  • Artistic crafts and handmade creations;
  • Typical products and specialties of the Marche region;
  • Street food with stands open for lunch and dinner.

An Event That Returns Several Times a Year

Arte & Gusto is not an isolated appointment, but a formula that returns on the main festive days of the Pioraco calendar: May 1st, which ideally opens the summer season, the June 2nd holiday weekend for Republic Day, and summer evenings, when the market intertwines with other village initiatives such as the Midsummer Fair, the Crayfish Festival, and historical re-enactments. On summer dates, the stands remain open from morning until midnight.

Nature, Picnics, and Waterfalls

The event's true strength lies in its setting. Pioraco offers visitors the chance to combine a stroll through the stalls with a day outdoors: picnics along the river, nature excursions to the "Li Vurgacci" waterfalls, and play areas for children at the sports facilities. A perfect opportunity to discover one of the greenest and most authentic corners of the Marche Apennines.

Organization

The market is managed by "I mercatini di Carla," in collaboration with the Municipality of Pioraco and local associations. Admission is free and the event is open to all, including families.

Arte & Gusto — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Arte & Gusto opened the season on May 1st, enlivening the Piè di Gualdo promenade in Pioraco. Along the pedestrian path, at the foot of Monte Gualdo, the stalls offered antiques, collectibles, crafts, typical products, and street food for lunch and dinner. A festive day that, thanks to the beautiful town on the Potenza river, attracted visitors for market browsing, picnics, and excursions to the waterfalls.

On May 1st, 2026, the Arte & Gusto market officially kicked off the summer season in Pioraco. The stalls lined the Piè di Gualdo promenade, featuring antiques, crafts, local specialties, and numerous street food options for lunch and dinner.

Despite the crisp air of the day, the event attracted many visitors, who alternated browsing the stalls with picnics along the river and walks to the village's natural waterfalls. Admission was free.
