About Art on Stage

Art on Stage is a multidisciplinary cultural encounter that enlivens the village of Lapedona, in the province of Fermo, in the heart of the Marche region. In the evocative setting of the Church of Saints Nicolò and Martino, literature, journalism, painting, sculpture, art history, and classical music intertwine in an open dialogue about beauty and the role of the arts in daily life. Promoted by the SpaziArte Laboratory of Altidona, the event brings together writers, artists, and scholars from the area for a convivial closing.

A Dialogue Between the Arts in the Village of Lapedona

In the charming village of Lapedona, in the province of Fermo and in the heart of the Marche region, Art on Stage – Varied Art Encounter comes to life, an afternoon dedicated to the meeting of different disciplines. The festival brings literature, journalism, painting, sculpture, art history, and music to the same table, in an open dialogue about beauty and the role the arts play in everyday life.

The Setting: The Church of Saints Nicolò and Martino

The event takes place inside the Church of Saints Nicolò and Martino, overlooking Piazza Giacomo Leopardi. It is a place of great charm: a Baroque-style building with gilded and marbled wooden altars, a coffered ceiling, and a valuable organ from the Callido school. The choice of this space is no coincidence: the historic village itself becomes part of the experience, welcoming the public in an intimate and secluded atmosphere.

Who is Behind the Initiative

Art on Stage is promoted by the SpaziArte Laboratory of Altidona, an organization founded by Stefania Pasquali and active for years in cultural promotion and the enhancement of artists from the Fermo area. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Lapedona and is the result of a network of collaborations between associations, authors, and local administrations in the Valdaso area.

What to Expect

The common thread is cross-pollination: interventions by writers and journalists alternate with the presentation of paintings and sculptures, historical-critical analysis, and live musical performances. It is a format designed for those who love to experience culture in a non-academic way, made of stories, personal experiences, and moments of listening. The day concludes convivially, with an opportunity for the public and protagonists to meet.

  • Where: Church of Saints Nicolò and Martino, Lapedona (FM)
  • When: In spring, during April
  • Who: SpaziArte Laboratory of Altidona, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lapedona
  • For whom: Art, literature, and music enthusiasts, the curious, and families

An initiative that tells the cultural vitality of the small villages of the Marche, where the quality of encounters matters more than their size.
