Edition 2025 — Art of Votive Breads

The Art of Votive Breads festival was established as a project by the Municipality of Salaparuta in 2026. However, the tradition it celebrates—votive breads and the Altars of Saint Joseph—is deeply rooted in the Belìce Valley village, where hand-molded bread has accompanied popular devotion to Saint Joseph, the community's patron saint, for generations.

There is no documented 2025 edition of the Art of Votive Breads festival under this name and format: the event was created as a project by the Municipality of Salaparuta in 2026.

However, the tradition the festival aims to promote is ancient and vibrant: in Salaparuta, in the province of Trapani, votive breads and the Altars of Saint Joseph have for generations represented one of the deepest expressions of local popular devotion, linked to the cult of the patron saint. Finely decorated, hand-molded breads are prepared primarily by the women of the village, preserving an artisanal wisdom passed down through time, which the 2026 festival sought to bring back to the center of community life.
