An Easter Monday looking up in Porto Recanati

When Easter Monday arrives, the promenade of Porto Recanati — a seaside gem in the Province of Macerata, in the Marche region — transforms into a grand open-air stage. Aquiloniamo - Kite Festival is now a fixed event for Easter Monday: from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening, hundreds of kites of all shapes and sizes dance above the sea, offering a day of excitement and lightness to residents and tourists.

Giant kites and acrobatic flights over the sea

The heart of the festival is the spectacle in the sky. Acrobatic kites and large inflatables in the most imaginative shapes fill the blue above the beach: in recent editions, the legendary Goldrake and Super Mario have appeared, alongside dinosaurs, little monkeys, jellyfish, and colorful flowers. Those who wish can also buy a kite on site and join the fun, letting their imagination fly along with that of the little ones.

Workshops for children, market, and street food

Aquiloniamo is designed primarily for families. During the day, creative workshops for children are held, where they can build and personalize their own small kite. To complete the festival, there is the MyLove market, with dozens of stalls of artistic crafts, curiosities, and costume jewelry, and a street food area perfect for an outdoor lunch under the spring sun, perhaps right on the beach.

A free event by MyLove Eventi

The event is organized by MyLove Eventi with the patronage of the Municipality of Porto Recanati. Admission is completely free, and the event takes place between Largo Porto Giulio and the middle of Lungomare Centro, right in the center and a short walk from the sea. It's the ideal opportunity to spend Easter Monday outdoors, in a festive and engaging atmosphere, and to discover one of the most vibrant towns on the Marche coast.

Overlooking the Adriatic Sea at the foot of Monte Conero, Porto Recanati combines fishing traditions, its wide beaches, and the famous local fish stew, 'brodetto portorecanatese'. Aquiloniamo ideally inaugurates the summer season, bringing color and movement to the promenade and kicking off the long series of summer events that liven up this Marche town.
