Edition 2025 — Montana Crest 100 Miles

Before the debut of the Montana Crest 100 Miles, A.S.D. Lupi d'Appennino had the great Apennine distance in its capabilities with the historic The Abbot's Way (AWTRAIL), held on June 13-14, 2025. From that multi-year experience of ridge trail running, the new Montana Crest 100 Miles project was born in 2026, starting from Corniglio (PR) and finishing in Lizzano in Belvedere (BO).

The Montana Crest 100 Miles debuts in 2026 as its first edition, but its roots lie in the experience of A.S.D. Lupi d'Appennino, a historic association from Corniglio (Parma) active in organizing trail and ultratrail races along the Apennines. In 2025, the association was involved with The Abbot's Way (AWTRAIL), a long-standing event held on June 13-14, 2025.

It is from this heritage of ridge races in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines that the new, ambitious project of the Montana Crest takes shape: an integral crossing of approximately 155 km from Corniglio to Lizzano in Belvedere, included in the national IUTA calendar. Therefore, there is no 2025 edition of the Montana Crest, which officially launches in June 2026.
