Antichissima Festa e Fiera di Sant'Ambrogio di Merate

The 2025 edition of the Festa e Fiera di Sant'Ambrogio confirmed the vitality of an ancient tradition in Merate. The patronal festival, celebrated on December 7th and 8th, combined a religious programme — triduum, solemn celebration, sacred concert — with the large fair in Piazza Prinetti and the historic centre.

There were also the civic merit awards ceremony, exhibitions at Villa Confalonieri and in the civic halls, guided tours of historic churches, and, notably, the distribution of Sant'Ambrogio's 'pomelle' in the courtyard of Palazzo Prinetti, a symbolic moment of the entire event. All events were free of charge.
