72nd Anniversary of the Weeping

The 2025 edition of the anniversary of the Madonna delle Lacrime was celebrated in Syracuse from August 29 to September 1, with the theme "The tears of the Madonna are a sign of hope." The four days followed tradition: day of the sick and volunteering, gift of life, consolation, and family.

The evening celebrations were presided over by the Archbishop of Syracuse, Msgr. Francesco Lomanto, and various prelates, with the solemn conclusion entrusted to Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas. In the preceding days, the Sanctuary offered the prayer platform, the blessing of cotton, a brass band concert in front of the steps, and the recital "Hope of Peace." The celebrations were also broadcast live on television and social media.
