The late May festival in Sabbadina di Boara Pisani, featuring wild boar, asparagus, and music
The Ancient Festival of the Little Temple takes place in Sabbadina, a locality in Boara Pisani, a municipality in the Padua region bordering the Polesine area along the Adige River. The festival originates from the popular devotion to the ancient little temple, one of the many small sacred shrines that dot the Venetian countryside and around which the life of rural communities has gathered over the centuries.
The festival is held at the Sabbadina sports field, in Via Vallazza 28, spread over two weekends between late May and early June. The program alternates gastronomic evenings and entertainment: dinners organized by the Pro Loco, a screening dedicated to the "history and tradition of the ancient little temple," and dancing evenings and concerts.
On the table, the protagonists are wild boar, asparagus, and typical local dishes, accompanied by evenings with DJ sets, ballroom dancing, and tributes to '70s and '80s rock. Organized by the Athesis APS Cultural Association together with the Pro Loco and with the patronage of the Municipality of Boara Pisani, the festival is one of the most heartfelt events of spring in the lower Paduan area.
